If you read my focuses for 2019 you will have noticed that one of them was to start making changes to my life and home that are healthier for my family. I feel that I already do many things that are good for us and our environment but I believe the goal is to constantly be trying to improve and make changes for the better. The first healthy home swap I wanted to make was to switch to using wool dryer balls. I have wanted to this for a long time now! When I found Friendsheep I knew this was the way to go.
Friendsheep provided me this product for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
Wool Dryer Balls
Making the switch to wool dryer balls is a great healthy home swap for many reasons. First and foremost you are not using and throwing away dryer sheets every time you do a load of laundry. Plus the product in dryer sheets actually coats your clothes to prevent the static which I do not love. The dryer balls are reusable so you are not waisting anything!
Plus the other great benefit is that because they help move the items around in the dryer and circulate the air you cut down on dry time between 25% – 40% – thats huge! I noticed a difference immediately. I honestly have always thought my dryer just kind of sucked, sorry I said it. But the problem was everything getting clumped together. I dried one of my big blankets the first night I received the dryer balls and I could not believe what a difference it made. Not only did it dryer faster but I usually have to run it through more than one time but not now.
If you still want to have a scent to your clothes all you have to do is add essential oil. Just a drop or two to each dryer ball and you will have a perfectly scented load of laundry without all the chemicals. Friendsheep has their own essential oil blend called Sun is Shining that I have been using and has been great!
More to love
The reason I love friendsheep as a company is because they do more than just make a product that helps the environment they do many other things as well. Their packaging is earth friendly with most being compostable and they use fair trade practices. They also employ and empower artisan women from underprivileged communities who are striving for a better life. And of course are a cruelty free product. I love using products that serve a purpose in more than one way.
This is such a little thing that can make a big change!
