Have you ever wanted your own enclosed garden bed?! Over time my interest in gardening has been growing year after year. Then last year I really wanted to step it up a bit. I knew if I was going to expand the amount I could plant then I would definitely need an enclosed garden bed. Our backyard is one of my favorite parts about our home, its one of the big reasons we chose it. I remember so clearly the day we looked at this house and when we walked into the yard an entire family of dear were strolling through the back. We were sold! Now fast forward 5 years and we still love all the animal visitors we have but we knew if we were going to have a bigger garden it would have to be an enclosed bed so all our furry friends wouldn’t eat it…
*This post is in partnership with Kalahari Resorts and Conventions. All opinions are my own Having a slow day on Thanksgiving and really enjoying just hanging out together is the best feeling! Watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is one of our favorite parts of the holiday. There is nothing better than relaxing as a family and enjoying the festivities of the parade together. One thing we are really excited about is seeing Kalahari Resorts in the parade again! We just love that The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and Kalahari are always delivering a bigger and better experience for us to enjoy. We really have fun making memories with both, this and every holiday season. And as we enjoy the parade we are also exploring though our Kalahari Fun Box and all the goodies inside! The kids had so much fun discovering what was inside and loved everything from…
Using faux florals and stems around your home is a great way to add to your decor. They can add height and texture to a space and are a nice break from taking care of a real plant. But a big component in that is knowing how to make faux florals look real when you style them in your home. If you buy more expensive ones they will usually look pretty good but they can really add up. There are a lot of budget faux florals that can really rival the designer versions – you just have to know what to look for and how to work with them. Here are my tips and tricks! Look at the branch color It may seem obvious but look for ones that have a realistic branch color. There are many that have all sorts of others colors that do not look natural….
This Poolside Paloma Recipe is the perfect cocktail for a super hot summer day! It’s the perfect balance between tart and sweet and very refreshing. I first started making this recipe last year on our first trip to Rosemary Beach. We had a great location in a beautiful house right off the community pool. We were looking for something fun to switch to from our usual Margarita Recipe. I started playing around with different concoctions and the Poolside Paloma was born.     Poolside Paloma Recipe 4-5 limes juiced (about 1/3 cup) Grapefruit juice – equal parts to lime juice (about 1/3 cup) 1TBSP Agave – more to taste 2 ounces silver tequila Sparkling water  – I prefer Topo Chico but you can use any you like Combine first 4 ingredients into a shaker and shake well. Pour into a glass filled with ice and fill about 3/4 up….
One of my go to paint brands! When I saw that they were having 25% off Paints and Stains this week July 15-18 I thought it was the perfect time to share some of my favorite Sherwin Williams paint colors in case you are looking.   Favorite Sherwin Williams Paint Colors There really are so many great colors to choose from! If you want to look around they have some great tools on their website and also have stick on samples you can order so you can test out colors if you are unsure. Here’s a breakdown of some of my favorites. Dark Colors We might as well start with my absolute favorite which is Tricorn Black! We used this color for our accent wall and it is exactly what we were looking for. We used the Cashmere paint in the flat finish and it has the perfect silky finish with…
Father’s Day is already less than 2 weeks away! I know finding gift ideas is sometimes a struggle so I rounded up some great ideas that are favorites in our house.    Father’s Day Gifts The Blackstone Griddle is by far my top pick if you are looking for a great idea! The best part is it comes in many sizes starting from a table top size which is under $100 and would be great for camping and goes all the way to the largest size which we have and we use it almost everyday.  I recently got my husband this everyday backpack for travel and I am amazed how much it fit. It makes the perfect carry on or even just for daily use. Two other absolute favorites in our house are these ABC joggers and ON Cloud sneakers. Trust me they will be a hit! If…

Over the last few years I have occasionally been sharing design boards (often called mood or inspiration boards too) over on my Instagram. I usually make them when planning out a space for decorating or renovating because visually seeing a space together is how I can best choose what I need. I eventually started making them just for fun here and there. After polling over on my stories we are bringing them back and I am going to start sharing them weekly. So here is the first installment! Design Boards Neutral cozy living room – I have been loving seeing this style rug in a few different scales lately! This was the first piece I choose when creating this space. It’s such a fun print but in the neutral colors its not too overwhelming. Having a mix of finishes in the accents like the wood, black and gold break it…
It’s that time of year where I start gathering some new containers to get a little more organized throughout the house. I’m working on many different spaces so here’s some of my favorite home organization finds. When using containers inside a cabinet or pantry I like to use this bluetooth label maker. It also works great for other items throughout the house like kids school supplies or toy organization. I love that I can print them right from my phone and they are super fast and easy to make.   I recently started using this makeup organizer and it has been a game changer! It’s a small lazy susan style and is perfect for your everyday makeup. I still have another spot for my extra items that I don’t use daily. I also keep my brushes in a pouch and bring them out when needed. The center part in…
Pomegranate Margarita You may have noticed by now that Margaritas are one of my favorite drinks to make and serve. I love to put seasonal spins on it through the year so for the holidays I started making these Pomegranate Margaritas and they are delish! They will be great for the holidays, New Years or anytime throughout the winter. The base is similar to my Fresh Lime Margarita with a couple changes. The addition of a cinnamon stick is a good balance of warmth with the sweetness of the pomegranate. It’s super easy and fun!  Pomegranate Margarita Recipe 3/4 cup Pomegranate Juice Juice of 1 lime 1 TBSP honey 1-2 ounces tequila 1 cinnamon stick  Sugar Start by running half of the lime around the rim of the glass. Put a thin layer of sugar on a small plate and dip the rim of the glass in the sugar…
I’m really looking forward to getting started on Christmas decor this year! I have started a little and have added a few things to my decor for this season. Since its not all up yet I thought I would share my inspiration for this year which is a Cozy Christmas Cabin. I wanted to really focus on enjoying being snuggled up at home. And on items that would work great for Christmas but also work into the winter after the holidays as well.     Greenery is definitely one of my favorite elements in any holiday decor. That plus the warm wood tones with lots of textures like knits and faux fur make it the perfect cozy cabin atmosphere! I wanted to keep it a more modern take on cabin decor by adding the black accents with clean lines. And lastly only adding in these couple pillows to the…
This time of year can get a pretty hectic with things to do. Then add in coming up with ideas for gifts is a whole other task to tackle. Sometimes you just need an idea that is a timeless holiday gift that will help when checking off your list. So I thought I would share my favorite for the season. *Thank you to Applewood Candle Co for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own   Behind the brand When it comes to gifting, it can be so hard to find just the right item. Especially when you have so many people on your list. We are often left trying to come up with ideas for teachers, coworkers, neighbors, clients and even friends or family. Thats where Applewood Candle Co comes in! I have grown very picky when choosing candles for my home. When I started using candles from…
