I can’t believe how fast summer is flying by and its already time to round up the July favorites. Like most months, the favorites are a combo of fashion and home finds so lets go! Trousers and Aviators The top 2 items were these Stellar Trousers and High Key Aviators. These trousers (and jacket) were a new purchase for me in July and I cannot stop wearing them! They wear like activewear but you can style them so many ways. Plus mostly importantly, they are sooo comfy. My aviator sunnies have been a daily staple for months. I love how they are a bit oversized and look good on everyone! Product details   Master Bathroom Mirror and Lights This master bathroom is still one of my favorite renovations in our house. I just love how all the details came together. These mirrors are heavy duty and the rounded corners…
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale preview is now live so I thought I would share some of my favorite pieces and a few shopping tips. After working for Nordstrom for many years this has definitely become one of my favorite sales. The main difference between this sale and many others is that the merchandise is new merchandise arriving for fall that is temporarily discounted for the sale and then goes back to regular price; while most sales are items at the end of the season when inventory is being moved out. The Details The Anniversary sale is open to everyone from August 19th – 30th with prices going back up on the 31st. All cardholders can gain early access on August 13th with some levels being able to access earlier. This year the main difference is the preview is all available online and the best part is you can add items…
Over the years I’ve learned to rely on a few different products to get a sun kissed look. I am one who doesn’t naturally get a tan, mostly because I am a big advocate for sunscreen since I am fair and tend to burn easily. You will see me in a big floppy hat majority of the time I am in the sun. I also live in Michigan and our sunshine is limited here haha! So I have found some favorite products to give me the glow I’m looking for.   Get that sun kissed look Nars products have been a favorite of mine for years. Their bronzer (I used shade Laguna) has been a staple of mine as long as I can remember. The undertones are neutral and done turn orange on me. I also have been using Nars Multiple for some time now as well. This product…
When it comes to finding kitchen decor I love pieces that are functional as well as decorative. I have recently found a lot of great amazon kitchen decor that I wanted to share. The style of my kitchen is kind of a modern farmhouse but these pieces will pretty much work into any design style. Two of my current favorite things in my kitchen are my faux greenery and my dutch oven. These faux greens I have used all over my house. They come in a pack of three and they go great everywhere! A dutch oven is another great piece because of its function and design. I use mine all the time and just leave it out on my stove because its so pretty. Linking some other similar affordable dutch over options because they can get pricey and mine is not currently available. Click an image for product…
If I could ask for one thing for Mother’s Day it would be some extra sleep bottled up! Since that’s not a realistic option I rounded up some great last minute Mother’s Day gifts to spoil her. Right now we are all loving everything cozy and things that make staying at home the best it can be. Here are some great things you can still get in time. This is a perfect time to gift new pj or loungewear sets since the season is changing.   Last Minute Mothers Day Gifts Other great things to gift are ones that can give you that spa like feeling with my new favorite nail polish brand or a pretty diffuser. Moms also love anything for their coffee or wine that makes it feel personal for them. Check out all these other options that you can even do store pickup if you need…
Sometimes the smallest project can make the largest impact on your daily life. This DIY closet makeover is the perfect example of that! When we moved into this house 3 years ago we gained so many wonderful things but the one thing I gave up was closet space. I could deal with the space but the lack of organization made it that much more difficult. It just had old shelving that was not well spaced as well as the rod was in an odd spot. So for some time I just gave up and my stuff was literally thrown all over the closet – literally. I had big plans to rip it all out and try to create a walk in closet out of rearranging our 2 separate closets and moving things around etc. Well after months of trying to work and rework that idea I realized that wasn’t…
*this is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own   Timeless style for your everyday The best foundation for any wardrobe are classic pieces that can be used and worn for years. Therefore finding pieces that have timeless style is important when I’m adding anything new. I am so excited to partner with Maxwell Scott Handbags and to show how their timeless style can last for years but also be used in your everyday.   They have so many different bag options for any style or need. My handbag is The Atessa and it also comes in two other colors and has so many beautiful details to it. I love the hook closure and the fact that you can personalize their bags with embossing. They would make an amazing gift! Designed in England and hand made with the highest quality leather in Italy. It perfectly fits my taste…
While attempting to stay cozy during this cold and dreary month, I have really gotten on board with graphic sweatshirts. There are so many ways to wear them and who doesn’t love to be a little comfy every once in awhile, right? The best part is that they are great really any time of year. So no need to worry about grabbing one now and not being able to wear them later! A graphic sweatshirt with denim shorts is one of my favorite combos. Perfect for chilly evenings. Ok here we go!   Graphic Sweatshirt Try On I grabbed this Mama sweatshirt a few weeks ago and have been wearing it nonstop! Super soft, works great with leggings but also looks perfect with jeans. Grab one here!   The color of this London sweatshirt gives me all the spring vibes. I love the fit of this one! It is…
Ok so I know it is almost the end of January but I took some time to reflect on this last year and gather my thoughts before putting this post together. Whenever I am looking into the new year for me it is mostly about goal setting and breaking down what I want to focus on. While I have set many personal and professional goals, I have actually tried to work on a general mindset shift for this year.   Personal view I have really tried to keep my focus on finding joy in the day to day things and really being in the moment. If you look at most things from this angle I think it will keep everything in perspective. With my kids still being rather young I want to soak in all this time while I can. Especially because I know they may not want to hang out…
Well I’m finally showing off our master bathroom reveal from the renovation we did! The renovation was actually complete earlier this fall but we had some finishing touches I wanted to wrap up before sharing the final look. Overall I am so happy and excited with how it turned out! The look and feel is exactly how I was wanting it to be. All my sources are linked at the end of the post. Tile The tile was our first and one of the biggest decisions we had to make, especially because so much of the space is covered in it. I love the look of a light bright tile and wanted it to feel modern but still cozy.  We ended up getting all of our tile from The Tile Shop. I absolutely loved their selection and the team there was always very helpful throughout the process. Our flooring…
Cranberry sauce was never a main staple for a holiday meal to me. But a few years ago my husband asked about having it so of course I was then on a mission. For several years in a row I would make a few different versions of it and slowly tweaking the flavors. The best part about homemade cranberry sauce is that it is very easy to make and so tasty. Another great part is that you can make it the day before so one less thing to do the day of entertaining. There really is not too much to do with this super easy recipe. The main advice I will give you is to keep an eye on it and stir often. The stirring will help breakdown the cranberries as they cook. You want to remove it from the heat once the cranberries burst because if you…
There is just something so exciting about a good DIY! Am I right?! I love being able to either repurpose or remake something. It kind of runs along the same lines as buying something for a really good sale price. You know what I mean 😉 Well I have always liked the look of a flocked Christmas Tree but never had one. Since I now had an extra tree that we weren’t really using I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try a DIY flocked Christmas tree and see how it turned out. *this post contains commissioned links at no additional cost to you.  DIY Flocked Christmas Tree Overall I was thrilled with the outcome! I really wasn’t sure what to expect to be honest. The one thing I felt pretty certain about was that it is messy to do and that was for sure. But aside from that…
