Ok so I know it is almost the end of January but I took some time to reflect on this last year and gather my thoughts before putting this post together. Whenever I am looking into the new year for me it is mostly about goal setting and breaking down what I want to focus on. While I have set many personal and professional goals, I have actually tried to work on a general mindset shift for this year.   Personal view I have really tried to keep my focus on finding joy in the day to day things and really being in the moment. If you look at most things from this angle I think it will keep everything in perspective. With my kids still being rather young I want to soak in all this time while I can. Especially because I know they may not want to hang out…
Well I’m finally showing off our master bathroom reveal from the renovation we did! The renovation was actually complete earlier this fall but we had some finishing touches I wanted to wrap up before sharing the final look. Overall I am so happy and excited with how it turned out! The look and feel is exactly how I was wanting it to be. All my sources are linked at the end of the post. Tile The tile was our first and one of the biggest decisions we had to make, especially because so much of the space is covered in it. I love the look of a light bright tile and wanted it to feel modern but still cozy.  We ended up getting all of our tile from The Tile Shop. I absolutely loved their selection and the team there was always very helpful throughout the process. Our flooring…
Cranberry sauce was never a main staple for a holiday meal to me. But a few years ago my husband asked about having it so of course I was then on a mission. For several years in a row I would make a few different versions of it and slowly tweaking the flavors. The best part about homemade cranberry sauce is that it is very easy to make and so tasty. Another great part is that you can make it the day before so one less thing to do the day of entertaining. There really is not too much to do with this super easy recipe. The main advice I will give you is to keep an eye on it and stir often. The stirring will help breakdown the cranberries as they cook. You want to remove it from the heat once the cranberries burst because if you…
There is just something so exciting about a good DIY! Am I right?! I love being able to either repurpose or remake something. It kind of runs along the same lines as buying something for a really good sale price. You know what I mean 😉 Well I have always liked the look of a flocked Christmas Tree but never had one. Since I now had an extra tree that we weren’t really using I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try a DIY flocked Christmas tree and see how it turned out. *this post contains commissioned links at no additional cost to you.  DIY Flocked Christmas Tree Overall I was thrilled with the outcome! I really wasn’t sure what to expect to be honest. The one thing I felt pretty certain about was that it is messy to do and that was for sure. But aside from that…
Time to bundle up is already upon us. I was hoping fall would hang out a little longer but my mums and pumpkins on my porch are already frozen! Today I’m sharing my winter sweater roundup of all my favorites to be prepared for this weather. As someone who is almost always cold I know it can sometimes be a challenge to find warm and cozy clothes that still have some cute style to it. This turtleneck sweater dress is probably one of my favorites I have found this year. It’s the perfect combination of cozy and fashionable! I love that it can be worn as a dress, with leggings or even with jeans. *this post contains some commissioned links at no additional cost to you.    Here’s a couple other current ones I’m loving too! This oversized mock neck is super cute and still has a nice shape…
I never used to get very into decorating for Halloween. But over the last few years since having kids I have had the best time doing it! They love it so much and its so much fun for all of us. Since my fall decor is already up I just wanted to add some things into what I had already done to make things feel a little spookier. My halloween decorating ideas all stemed from keeping things easy and on a budget. I spent less than $30 total between some great dollar store finds, bullseyes playground at target and a few amazon purchases. Anything I could find online is linked at the end of this post. Halloween Decorating Ideas for the front porch The main thing I added to our spooky front porch were these floating witch hats! How cute are these?! I just used a needle and threaded…
One of our favorite things to do in the fall is visit this apple orchard – many times! This year it is even more exciting because Jesse’s parents have a orchard at their house!! So we have been very lucky to have lots of apples at our disposal this year. My favorite thing to make when we have lots of extra apples is this simple slow cooker applesauce. For one it is just so easy to do and everyone loves it. It’s also a great way to use up those not so perfect apples because it all cooks down anyway. Another great apple recipe to try in my Healthy(ish) Apple Crumble Recipe if you are looking for a sweet treat. Prep First thing to do is of course wash and prep the apples. You want to peel and cut the apples into slices. I will link my favorite tools to make…
Hey hey its Friday! I’m going to be totally honest this week has been a bit of a rollercoaster. My poor kiddos have been sick which is never fun and I’m just waiting for it to hit me. But some really exciting things have been happening this week too! Always look for the positive, right?! So lets talk about what I loved this week and other exciting things for this weekend. Fall Vibes There is just something so fun about getting a package in the mail! My favorite delivery of the season arrived this week. My fall mugs from DeMarie Designs came and I was literally jumping up and down with excitement. She has so many fun Halloween mugs and the cutest fall inspired ones. You have to check out the leopard pumpkin spice mug! I also started working on my Halloween decor and will post it all when…
Now that fall has officially decided to show up around here, I like to go through and swap out my shoes for my most worn ones that I rotate through the season. By doing this I am essentially creating my shoe capsule for fall. This capsule contains something for pretty much every type of day (excluding special occasions). The ones I have chosen are just an example of types that would work well for different days, weather, occasions and outfits. Whether you work with what you currently have or find similar pairs its just about making everything have multiple uses and purposes. All product details are linked at the bottom of the post! Booties As you may have noticed I picked several pairs of booties because its definitely what I wear most. One of my newest favorites are these flat cognac colored booties (pictured above). The cutout detail is…
Fall Home Decor Tour Getting my home warm and cozy for fall is one of my favorite things! I’m that person who lights a pumpkin candle in August (sorry not sorry hehe). This year was a little more of a challenge as I somehow mysteriously misplaced my bin with all my fall stuff in it so I had to start from scratch. I try to do my best to reuse and repurpose as much as I can to save money and space. We are limited on storage so I have to be efficient. The color palette I decided to go with is a lot of neutrals with pops of fall colors here and there. I also did an emphasis on more blush tones and a little less orange. I feel like I can transition it more into Christmas easier that way. Each area I will give you a little…
My first (and favorite) stop when going into Target is going to Bullseye’s Playgroud. Or as I still will call it the dollar spot. Whatever you call it – we all know and love it. There’s always some hidden treasure in there and you can’t pass it up because the prices are so good! On my recent trip I found some really cute and great fall pieces. If you follow along on my instagram you would have heard me talking about how I had somehow lost my bin with all my fall decor! So I have been slowing grabbing things over the past couple weeks. This trip was a total score and I didn’t know until recently that many of the items are available online! Here is the little metal house with the tea light in it that I just fell in love with. I knew my kids would…
It’s always so fun and exciting to start a home renovation project. I am the first one to jump on board whenever there is talks of starting to work on something new. After countless home renovation projects I wanted to share some lessons I’ve learned along the way that will hopefully save you some time and maybe even a little cash. The key is to think about what to do BEFORE you start a renovation. This applies to big and small projects because planning is a crucial step. *just a little disclaimer for you. I am not a builder but I am a handy mama who knows a fair amount about building, design and a lot of experience in real estate 😉 this is just meant as general guidance so always consult a professional beforehand    Who doesn’t love demo day?! It’s so exciting to break things down in…
