We are inching closer to starting the renovation of the outside of our home. The main project is going to be having our patios and walkways removed and redone, as well as some landscaping. I decided to get going on finding new furniture and decor for the space because we want to be able to enjoy it once its done. Our current table and chairs we’ve had for over 10 years and its just time for an update. One thing I have noticed over the years is that this can be quite time consuming as well as a little frustrating since so many pieces sell out very fast during the season. Since I was doing all the research I thought I would share all my fun finds. Even if you aren’t planning a big change it may just provide a little inspo if you want to change a few…
Christmas decorating will always be one of my favorite things. There’s just something magical that the lights and greenery bring to a space. I switched up a few things and tried some new this year so lets take a Christmas home tour! Christmas in the kitchen Lets start in my favorite spot, the kitchen. I always love to do the garland above the window with some lights. This year I switched out to a new garland from the past couple years. You can see the other one in my Holiday Decor Tips and Ideas. I also added some whimsical elements like the Christmas Cookie book, gingerbread house and candy canes. The kids love having the candy canes around!   Dining Room Since finishing this accent wall in our dining room was still fairly recent I wasn’t prepared to hang anything directly on it yet haha. Adding a pencil tree was…
We recently added a little bar cart to our dining space to create some fun set ups while staying at home this season. Once it was put together the kids made me promise the first thing we would do is make a hot chocolate bar. Done! Hot Chocolate Bar Setup I tried to keep it fairly simple and whimsical when putting it together. First I filled in the space with some decor like mini trees, lights, and a cake stand to vary the height a little.  Next I added all the hot chocolate components including hot chocolate mix in a cute jar, candy canes and some toppings (mini marshmallows, crushed candy canes, and mini chocolate chips). I always just use what I have around the house as far as serving pieces. I usually just use mason jars or small bowls or ramekins like the ones here. Lastly you want…
DIY Wood Accent Wall We have been in our house for over 3 years now and this large wall in our dining room has been a spot I could never decide what to do with. Everything I came up with or was going to try just never seemed like the right fit. When we decided to overhaul our dining space and thought about doing  wood accent wall I knew it was finally going to be something we loved! The design Before we began we had to figure out what kind of design we wanted on the wall. Jesse wanted a very geometric pattern while I just wanted basic vertical pieces. We knew we had to figure out a comprise. We went about doing this by using painters tape and laying out a few different designs. It was about finding a design that fitted best in the space and…
As we have stepped into fall I love to try to make a space feel seasonal without having to change everything. Here’s a peek at some fall living room accents that don’t require an over haul. Fall Living Room Accents A good rule of thumb to follow with most areas of the home is texture and layers. Doing those two things will add dimension and make a space feel cozy and welcoming. But the best part about those is that they don’t always have to be seasonal specific. Just a few touches of fall will make a big impact.  The mantle I kept somewhat simple this year but still have varying heights. One great item to use anytime is greenery. It can easy be adapted for any season. Here I just used a basic faux garland and eucalyptus and just added a couple pieces with some fall inspired colors….
When it comes to finding kitchen decor I love pieces that are functional as well as decorative. I have recently found a lot of great amazon kitchen decor that I wanted to share. The style of my kitchen is kind of a modern farmhouse but these pieces will pretty much work into any design style. Two of my current favorite things in my kitchen are my faux greenery and my dutch oven. These faux greens I have used all over my house. They come in a pack of three and they go great everywhere! A dutch oven is another great piece because of its function and design. I use mine all the time and just leave it out on my stove because its so pretty. Linking some other similar affordable dutch over options because they can get pricey and mine is not currently available. Click an image for product…
Sometimes the smallest project can make the largest impact on your daily life. This DIY closet makeover is the perfect example of that! When we moved into this house 3 years ago we gained so many wonderful things but the one thing I gave up was closet space. I could deal with the space but the lack of organization made it that much more difficult. It just had old shelving that was not well spaced as well as the rod was in an odd spot. So for some time I just gave up and my stuff was literally thrown all over the closet – literally. I had big plans to rip it all out and try to create a walk in closet out of rearranging our 2 separate closets and moving things around etc. Well after months of trying to work and rework that idea I realized that wasn’t…
Well I’m finally showing off our master bathroom reveal from the renovation we did! The renovation was actually complete earlier this fall but we had some finishing touches I wanted to wrap up before sharing the final look. Overall I am so happy and excited with how it turned out! The look and feel is exactly how I was wanting it to be. All my sources are linked at the end of the post. Tile The tile was our first and one of the biggest decisions we had to make, especially because so much of the space is covered in it. I love the look of a light bright tile and wanted it to feel modern but still cozy.  We ended up getting all of our tile from The Tile Shop. I absolutely loved their selection and the team there was always very helpful throughout the process. Our flooring…
There is just something so exciting about a good DIY! Am I right?! I love being able to either repurpose or remake something. It kind of runs along the same lines as buying something for a really good sale price. You know what I mean 😉 Well I have always liked the look of a flocked Christmas Tree but never had one. Since I now had an extra tree that we weren’t really using I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try a DIY flocked Christmas tree and see how it turned out. *this post contains commissioned links at no additional cost to you.  DIY Flocked Christmas Tree Overall I was thrilled with the outcome! I really wasn’t sure what to expect to be honest. The one thing I felt pretty certain about was that it is messy to do and that was for sure. But aside from that…
I never used to get very into decorating for Halloween. But over the last few years since having kids I have had the best time doing it! They love it so much and its so much fun for all of us. Since my fall decor is already up I just wanted to add some things into what I had already done to make things feel a little spookier. My halloween decorating ideas all stemed from keeping things easy and on a budget. I spent less than $30 total between some great dollar store finds, bullseyes playground at target and a few amazon purchases. Anything I could find online is linked at the end of this post. Halloween Decorating Ideas for the front porch The main thing I added to our spooky front porch were these floating witch hats! How cute are these?! I just used a needle and threaded…
Hey hey its Friday! I’m going to be totally honest this week has been a bit of a rollercoaster. My poor kiddos have been sick which is never fun and I’m just waiting for it to hit me. But some really exciting things have been happening this week too! Always look for the positive, right?! So lets talk about what I loved this week and other exciting things for this weekend. Fall Vibes There is just something so fun about getting a package in the mail! My favorite delivery of the season arrived this week. My fall mugs from DeMarie Designs came and I was literally jumping up and down with excitement. She has so many fun Halloween mugs and the cutest fall inspired ones. You have to check out the leopard pumpkin spice mug! I also started working on my Halloween decor and will post it all when…
Fall Home Decor Tour Getting my home warm and cozy for fall is one of my favorite things! I’m that person who lights a pumpkin candle in August (sorry not sorry hehe). This year was a little more of a challenge as I somehow mysteriously misplaced my bin with all my fall stuff in it so I had to start from scratch. I try to do my best to reuse and repurpose as much as I can to save money and space. We are limited on storage so I have to be efficient. The color palette I decided to go with is a lot of neutrals with pops of fall colors here and there. I also did an emphasis on more blush tones and a little less orange. I feel like I can transition it more into Christmas easier that way. Each area I will give you a little…
