My first (and favorite) stop when going into Target is going to Bullseye’s Playgroud. Or as I still will call it the dollar spot. Whatever you call it – we all know and love it. There’s always some hidden treasure in there and you can’t pass it up because the prices are so good! On my recent trip I found some really cute and great fall pieces. If you follow along on my instagram you would have heard me talking about how I had somehow lost my bin with all my fall decor! So I have been slowing grabbing things over the past couple weeks. This trip was a total score and I didn’t know until recently that many of the items are available online! Here is the little metal house with the tea light in it that I just fell in love with. I knew my kids would…
It’s always so fun and exciting to start a home renovation project. I am the first one to jump on board whenever there is talks of starting to work on something new. After countless home renovation projects I wanted to share some lessons I’ve learned along the way that will hopefully save you some time and maybe even a little cash. The key is to think about what to do BEFORE you start a renovation. This applies to big and small projects because planning is a crucial step. *just a little disclaimer for you. I am not a builder but I am a handy mama who knows a fair amount about building, design and a lot of experience in real estate 😉 this is just meant as general guidance so always consult a professional beforehand    Who doesn’t love demo day?! It’s so exciting to break things down in…
So like many people, Target is my jam when it comes to decor! Well and let’s be honest it’s my jam for pretty much everything else too. It’s so great because you can get so many affordable and stylish pieces.  My current favorite target decor pieces are ones that really make a difference yet can stand the test over time without having to swap them out. Target Decor Pieces and some other favorites I am so in love with my front porch this season! Most of it is because of this adorable Home Sweet Home Doormat. They have so many cute doormats and for great prices. I will also link my cute mug and the mat layered underneath. These are some of the most timeless pieces I have in this spot of my house. This round mirror can be used in so many ways! I have seen it over…
Over spring break last week our plans fell through and the weather was not good. We wanted to do a little project but one that didn’t take up too much time so we decided to do a little hallway makeover. I have been wanting to paint our hallway for months now! When we moved into our house we renovated our entire first floor and did a few updates and painting in the bedrooms. But for some reason never painted and cleaned up the hallway. Fast forward almost 2 years and there were A LOT of finger prints from the kids all over the walls. We have a little nook in the landing/hallway and I wanted to add a little something to the space to make more of another area in the house rather than just a hall. This post contains affiliate links. Holiday Decor Tips and Ideas Now that the holidays are here and its time to decorate around the house I wanted to share some of my holiday decor tips and ideas for quick and easy decor that will make things feel cozy this season. One of the easiest and best ways to do it is to add some greenery. Here I added some garland around my window with some twinkle lights and a wreath over my hood. One great way to put up decor is by using command hooks. I just added a medium sized command hook to the shiplap and now I can either take it down when I’m done or swap out to a different piece when the holidays are over. These small hooks are also great for the littler items when decorating such as lights.   Adding in fresh greens also is a great way to…
4 inexpensive items to make your home feel luxurious Home decor items are so important to have to make your home feel personal, warm and inviting. But I always tend to get around to it lastly. I love home decor but for some reason its always the thing that I don’t leave a budget for – even though I would love to spend LOTS on it. These are some of my favorite home items that have helped give my home those finishing touches or that extra something without spending a lot and I wanted to share with you. So I have narrowed it down to 4 inexpensive items to make your home feel luxurious. *this post contains affiliate links. While traveling recently I saw a cute little pillow that almost resembled a bow and immediately thought I can make something like that! So when I got home I ran to Joann Fabrics and picked up my supplies. I had my kids with me and let my son pick out the fabric and I actually kind of love it. Now my sewing is not the best but this is a fun one to whip together. So don’t take it too seriously and just have fun because making this easy bow pillow is meant to be fun. This is great as an accent piece for anywhere! Bedrooms, living rooms, office etc. I bought outdoor fabric for mine and am using it with my adorandak chairs outside. Easy Bow Pillow Here are the supplies you need fabric matching thread (or I just use something that coordinates) rectangular pillow (I used a…
Flowers are such a great gift for many occasions. Who doesn’t love getting flowers? Here is an easy way to dress up or personalize a simple store bought flower bouquet into your own DIY flower bundle. To start grab whatever bunches of flowers you love. I always get mine at either Trader Joe’s or Costco. They are always the nicest for a good price. But there are plenty of great options out there. Other supplies you will need- craft paper (plain or print), scissors, tape, twine (raffia or ribbon too whatever you prefer) and if you plan on having the kids decorate it markers or crayons. If it’s just a fun craft for the kids one trick I use is just to reuse a paper grocery bag. Cut along one side and cut off the bottom section, handles and flatten it out. Have the kids color and draw on…
Spring Decor Refresh for Less A lot of people don’t want to change their design at home seasonally because it sounds expensive and like a lot of work. But it doesn’t have to be that complicated. So I decided to do a quick spring decor refresh for less to show how simple it can be! Here are a couple general tips for changing out decor easily: -Buy pillows that have removable covers. They may be a little more at first but over time worth the investment. Buy new ones seasonally or keep a couple sets to change out twice a year or more. If you are like me and have kids and/or pets being able to remove and wash them is a-maz-ing! Here’s what I did to change things up. Swapped out my older throw pillows for brighter colors and a floral pattern. I don’t usually go in the…
