Have you ever wanted to change up a room without doing any major projects? Don’t get me wrong we all know I love a big renovation but sometimes its just not necessary or feasible. I’m going to share some easy ways to change up a room without having to do a ton of work!
It’s been over 4 years since we renovated our kitchen. I cannot believe how time flies! While I still love the space we created I was definitely ready for the vibe of the room to change a little. One thing I’ve learned about interior design is its ok for your style and taste to continually change and evolve over time. I was ready to make the space lean more towards transitional design with a cozy feel.
Changes in the kitchen
Here are the biggest changes I made to the space. First is we changed out the pendant light from a more farmhouse style to this more sleek style globe. It is definitely a better style and fit for the space. Second and probably the biggest swap I probably made is to take down the wreath on the hood and replaced it with artwork. I spent a long time looking for the perfect frame and artwork for this spot. I’m so happy with how it turned out. The last big change was to remove the rectangular rug and replace it with a runner. I made sure to go with one that coordinated with the other new pieces. As well as one with a pattern because that is essential in a high traffic area for hiding spots 😉
I also swapped out some of the counter decor and brought in a few fall pieces. Thats one of the easiest ways to update a room with little effort! But overall that was it! Head to my instagram to see some of the before pics of the space. Overall I was able to make a big change to our kitchen for under $300 and I have a renewed love for it 🙂

Other ways to change up a room
Heres a few other ways to change up a room without have to do a big project. Changing out hardware or even faucets are a great way to change the style of a space. Especially if you go with a different finish it can make a big impact. Just be sure that it still coordinates with the other finishes in the room. Window coverings are another great item to swap to change the feel of a room. There are so many different options for that. And last which is a little bigger project but painting can always go a long way! Whether its painting an accent wall, cabinets or the whole room there’s a lot of ways paint can really change up a space. And it’s still way less work than a renovation.
