I never used to get very into decorating for Halloween. But over the last few years since having kids I have had the best time doing it! They love it so much and its so much fun for all of us. Since my fall decor is already up I just wanted to add some things into what I had already done to make things feel a little spookier. My halloween decorating ideas all stemed from keeping things easy and on a budget. I spent less than $30 total between some great dollar store finds, bullseyes playground at target and a few amazon purchases. Anything I could find online is linked at the end of this post.
Halloween Decorating Ideas for the front porch
The main thing I added to our spooky front porch were these floating witch hats! How cute are these?! I just used a needle and threaded some thread through the top of the hat and tied an additional knot to secure it. Then I attached them to the porch ceiling using the sticky strip from a command hook. I also added a dot of hot glue (low temp one) to the sticky to secure the string before hanging it. But I don’t think this was totally necessary. Just be careful using it if you do and also keep in mind it might be more difficult to remove with the glue. We’ve had some windy days and I wanted to be sure they didn’t blow away.
I took the remainder of my dollar store finds, sequin pumpkins from target and my amazon decorations and just added it to other areas throughout the house. I feel like Halloween should be fun and whimsical and you shouldn’t have to take a ton of time or money to feel festive. Enjoy!
And heres a few fun outfit ideas that are great non costume options!
