We recently added a little bar cart to our dining space to create some fun set ups while staying at home this season. Once it was put together the kids made me promise the first thing we would do is make a hot chocolate bar. Done!
Hot Chocolate Bar Setup
I tried to keep it fairly simple and whimsical when putting it together. First I filled in the space with some decor like mini trees, lights, and a cake stand to vary the height a little. Next I added all the hot chocolate components including hot chocolate mix in a cute jar, candy canes and some toppings (mini marshmallows, crushed candy canes, and mini chocolate chips). I always just use what I have around the house as far as serving pieces. I usually just use mason jars or small bowls or ramekins like the ones here. Lastly you want to add some fun mugs! I like the combination of having these mini mugs and the larger Christmas ones too. My kids love them both!
Extra Details
Another fun piece I added to the cart was this little Hot Chocolate sign! I made this printable last year and its been a great piece to use. You can get a copy of it HERE to use for your own hot chocolate bar. I printed mine on cardstock and used this inexpensive frame, so easy! Make sure to tag me if you use it, I’d love to see it!
There are a ton of other options you can use including hot chocolate sticks or stirrers. Plus lots of other topping options like sprinkles, cinnamon or even cookies for the top! Whats most important is to have a little fun and let everyone enjoy making their own. My kids loved choosing and adding all their toppings just as much as they loved drinking it.
And when your ready to turn it into a drink cart for the adults make sure to check out my Festive Prosecco Cocktail!
Cheers!
