We love to cook in our household. I am not a professional by any means but we have done enough of it to know what works best for us. The most important things in my kitchen are items that work well and that are efficient and save me time. These must have kitchen tools make prep a breeze and help make your meals tastier.

Must have kitchen tools
Microplane zester
I received this as a gift years back and it is still in perfect shape. I use this for just about anything I’m making. Its mainly for zesting citrus fruit for cooking, baking, marinades… you name it. But it also works great for ginger, cheese, veggies and garlic. Anything you need finely grated this is your go to. Of all my must have kitchen tools this is probably my number one. Palm vegetable peeler
My grandma told me about these and it has changed the world of peeling for me! Vegetable peelers and I have always had a rough relationship haha! I never liked using them. This makes it so much easier to use and control. Not to mention I can peel a whole lot faster using this.

Slotted nylon spatulas
I don’t know why it took me so long to get spatulas like these. I’ve always had the thicker flat spatulas and struggled using them for so many things. These are great for thin, small or lightweight items for cooking or baking. I mainly bought them to use for frying eggs. I have never been the best at cooking eggs but this upped my game. Its a lot easier for me to flip them without breaking the yoke with these. Not to mention they are so inexpensive!

Garlic Press
If you love to cook with garlic you need this in your kitchen. Mine is actually a hand me down from my grandma and it works amazing! I didn’t realize how much I needed it until she gave it to me. Cooking with fresh garlic makes ALL the difference in the flavor in my opinion. You can do it so much faster with this and with less mess. I also feel like so much more flavor comes out of it this way.

Flexible cutting boards
These are just a great convenience to have. They are thin so they are not bulky to store and quick to wash. Plus you can fold them up and dump everything into a pan with ease. Sometimes I use several cutting boards when cooking so this gives me that options and its not a big deal.
